Net diagrams in MGraph

MgNetzdiagramm

From build 295 on a net diagram has been integrated into MGraph (also see article Net diagrams in MLab).

Net diagrams are also called radar diagrams or radar chart diagrams. They chart the values of various curves in a radial arrangement, like a spider web. The radial axes are automatically arranged in a circle of 360 degrees with constant angular distances. In addition, the individual curve values are connected with lines of a certain color; the enclosed area can be filled with a color, too.

All curves presented are comprised of the same number of display values that are arranged on the same radial axis according to chronological order. The curve points represent values from different data sets at a given time. A time offset allows value combinations at different points of time for each curve.

The net diagram can be integrated into MGraph-TimeControl so that movements in value changes can be examined over time.

This is a new possibility for presenting your measurement values, coming straight from our workshop. Measurement values taken from different sensors are arranged on axes running through a center point. The higher the value, the greater the distance is to the center point of this net. Values that are located next to each other can be connected by lines, thus making it possible to optically and quickly assess shifts.

Net diagrams are used, for instance, in examining centrifugal forces working on rotating shafts, thereby enabling you to immediately register balance errors.

FlexRay for MLab

News - Software

FleyRay-LogoThe automotive industry is relying more and more on the serial field bus system FlexRay®. Compared to the widely used CAN bus, FlexRay® meets higher demands on data transfer security. Its communication system is deterministic and fault-tolerant, ensuring failsafe transfer of important messages (brakes, steering systems). Rather than being based on a master/slave concept, synchronization in FlexRay® is distributed across all participants, thus safeguarding especially reliable transmission.

MLabStiegele Datensysteme provides a FlexRay® interface for its measurement and control software MLAB. This allows MLab to receive and process sensor signals from the FlexRay® bus.

MLab driver for OPC

News - Software

MLab: Universelle Steuer- und RegelungssoftwareWe have now provided our universal data acquisition and control software MLAB with a driver for OPC.

OPC (OLE for Process Control) is based on a highly sophisticated client/server concept that has standardized data exchange, especially in the automation technology. Various bus systems (CAN, SPS, etc.) can link to an OPC server, which in turn can serve the appropriate clients.

Via the new OPC client module, MLab can now be linked to an OPC server for gathering and processing sensor data. The special benefit is that MLab can simply share in utilizing an infrastructure that is already in place.
